Senior Pastor

Dr. Jim Meek

Dr. Meek comes to us having served in several churches as Senior Pastor. He says, "I am willing to serve wherever God wants me to serve". His ministry includes starting a new church in Reno, Nevada. He says, "My goal is to honor Christ by helping people become like Christ through receiving Him and depending on Him".

His ministry has impacted the lives of many where he has led churches to reach their community for Christ, having baptized over 2, 400 over the years. He has led in growing churches in the ministry of the Word through Sunday School, worship and giving, including the support of the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program.

Dr. Meek is a graduate received his Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He is married to Nancie Meek and is the father of 3 and the grand-father of 2.

Cheyenne Rienks

Cheyenne was born and raised in the Arden-Arcade, Sacramento area. JD and Cheyenne met and married at El Camino Baptist Church in 2005. They moved to San Diego to help raise JD’s two daughters Maddi and Kylie. While in San Diego, Cheyenne and JD liked to visit Mexico and help the La Roca Ministries by participating in bible studies and speaking at special events. They were able to do this with the training they received through Bible Study Fellowship. They both served as leaders and attended BSF for 7 years.

 

Spring Valley Community church is where they served and called their church home while in San Diego. Cheyenne sang on the praise team from time to time and eventually started a greeting ministry. JD started a Men’s Ministry and created the church logo. JD and Cheyenne eventually moved to First Baptist Church of Mira Mesa in San Diego (now called Summit Church). Cheyenne worked part time as the kid’s Director for FBCMM for the next 3 years.

 

After 12 years of living San Diego, JD and Cheyenne moved back home to Sacramento in January 2017 to be close to family. They are excited to back with the El Camino church and love to be a part of the ministry. Cheyenne earned her Bachelors of Science degree in 2006 from University of Phoenix and her Masters in Organizational Management in 2013 from Ashford University.

Minister of Worship

Sallyann Brittain

Sallyann was born and raised in Sacramento, California.  Some of her fondest memories growing up were those made at El Camino Baptist church as a child and teen. With an amazing youth group and choir, she fell in love with singing and playing the piano. Sallyann plays many instruments but her favorite to play is the piano and trumpet. After getting her Associates Degree in music, she married her college sweetheart Kyle Brittain in 2005. Sallyann Earned her Bachelor’s of Management Degree in 2008 from the University of Phoenix. In 2009, Sallyann and Kyle had an addition to their family, Sienna Natalia Brittain. She also leads chapel for Wonderland Christian School.  Above all else, Sallyann is amazed and privileged that God has given her the heart of music as one of her talents. It is not only a passion of hers to bring people to the heart of God; it is also her calling.

Greg Horton

Gregory Horton has lived in the Sacramento area since 1998 when his family moved and settled down here. He grew up serving in Boy Scouts of America, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2008. Greg attributes many of his values and service-oriented attitude to his years in Boy Scouts. This may also be where he developed his passion for working with and developing youth.

Greg attended Rio Americano High School where he met his wife, Kim Horton.  After graduating from high school in 2008, he spent a year living and working in San Francisco, CA. He then moved back to Sacramento and began working full-time.

Greg started attending El Camino Baptist Church in 2008 after Kim invited him to attend with her. He came to accept God as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized in 2010. Since then, he has served as a leader in El Camino’s youth department. After marrying in 2013, Greg and his wife moved to the Bay Area where they attended Hillview Baptist Church in Fremont, CA. Greg had the pleasure of teaching in their youth department, organizing their annual summer festival, and running the sound booth. Then in 2015, Greg and his wife moved back to Sacramento and rejoined El Camino Baptist Church.  Since then, they have welcomed their daughter, Reyna Camille Horton, and settled in to their new home in Citrus Heights. Greg is serving as Youth Leader and chair of the Fall Festival planning committee. He truly enjoys getting to work with our youth to teach them to love God and develop them into future leaders.

Greg’s hobbies included collecting and playing board games; a love that probably started from playing Cribbage against his late Uncle Camille.  Aside from games, Greg loves the outdoors, and enjoys backpacking and hiking. Of course, he always enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, corgi Amelia, and other family and friends.

Debbie Fredrickson

Debbie grew up in Oroville California and is a graduate of Oroville High School in 1973. She continued her education and is a graduate of California Baptist College in 1977, majoring in Religion and Behavioral Science.

She is married to a local Baptist pastor, Jim Fredrickson, also a graduate of California Baptist College. She enjoys music, watching movies, and vacationing along the coast and in Yosemite. Debbie is a member of the worship team of her local church. Some of her hobbies include, interior decorating, photography, and holds a certificate as a Water Fitness Instructor.

Debbie has volunteered her services in numerous capacities; such as, Executive Board member of the Sacramento Region Baptist Network, Strategic Planning Team of Hillsdale Blvd Baptist Church, Women on Mission Coordinator & Women's Ministry of Hillsdale Blvd Baptist Church, and Renovations Ministry of Hillsdale Blvd Baptist Church.

Debbie came to work at El Camino Baptist in late 2005. At El Camino Debbie keeps continuity in the church office by providing administrative support to pastors, staff and church leadership. She exercises warm, friendly, professional customer service and maintains absolute confidentiality of church business and membership information. Debbie has a high work ethic as a self-motivated business professional and contributes greatly to the team and the success of others. Her work experiences and talents has made her a great asset to El Camino Baptist Church.  It has been said that if Debbie is out sick for more than a day, the rest of the staff becomes clinically insane....
