Gregory Horton has lived in the Sacramento area since 1998 when his family moved and settled down here. He grew up serving in Boy Scouts of America, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2008. Greg attributes many of his values and service-oriented attitude to his years in Boy Scouts. This may also be where he developed his passion for working with and developing youth.

Greg attended Rio Americano High School where he met his wife, Kim Horton.  After graduating from high school in 2008, he spent a year living and working in San Francisco, CA. He then moved back to Sacramento and began working full-time.

Greg started attending El Camino Baptist Church in 2008 after Kim invited him to attend with her. He came to accept God as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized in 2010. Since then, he has served as a leader in El Camino’s youth department. After marrying in 2013, Greg and his wife moved to the Bay Area where they attended Hillview Baptist Church in Fremont, CA. Greg had the pleasure of teaching in their youth department, organizing their annual summer festival, and running the sound booth. Then in 2015, Greg and his wife moved back to Sacramento and rejoined El Camino Baptist Church.  Since then, they have welcomed their daughter, Reyna Camille Horton, and settled in to their new home in Citrus Heights. Greg is serving as Youth Leader and chair of the Fall Festival planning committee. He truly enjoys getting to work with our youth to teach them to love God and develop them into future leaders.

Greg’s hobbies included collecting and playing board games; a love that probably started from playing Cribbage against his late Uncle Camille.  Aside from games, Greg loves the outdoors, and enjoys backpacking and hiking. Of course, he always enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, corgi Amelia, and other family and friends.
