BE A FAITHFUL FATHER

Dr. Robert Redfield was the Director of Centers for Disease Control for our nation. His son, Dan, fell off a golf cart and crushed his head. Bleeding from the mouth, he was taken to the hospital and given a 5% chance of survival. The doctors thought there was no way he could return to normal. But his dad and mom kept praying for him, and rallying people around the world to pray for him. They never gave up hope that he would return to normal.
The top 2/3 of Dan’s skull was removed so that the brain could swell properly. Eventually, a titanium skull was built over the brain.
Dan miraculously recovered and is now living a normal life. His brother, a transplant specialist, became a believer because of Dan’s recovery. He knew that his parents’ prayers were key to his brother’s recovery.
If you’re a parent, I hope you’re a praying parent!
Sunday I’m preaching on “Be a Faithful Father” from Genesis 22:1-14. We’ll look at “Be Available,” verses 1-5; and “Sacrifice,” verses 6-14. This is the moving and prophetic story of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Isaac. We’ll learn to give our family and everything else to God.
Congratulations to Danny Hur for being our new Minister of Music and Young Adults. Please support him and his wonderful family: wife, March, and five children.
Love,
Jim Meek
