SEE HOW SIN AFFECTS THE FUTURE

Karl Marx believed that man created God in his own image. He also believed that religion was the opium of the people, dulling the working people’s pain by offering heaven so that they won’t rebel against capitalist oppressors. He taught that the ancient feudal economy gave way to capitalism; that capitalism will give way to socialism; and socialism will give way to communism wherein everyone is equal and shares everything equally.
Marx’ atheism gave rise to generations of godless people. In Russia, for example, the communist Stalin had one million people murdered. If we add famine, gulags and deportations, the number rises to perhaps 20 million.
In China, the communist Mao Zedong oversaw the death of perhaps 80 million people.
These men saw the end as justifying the means. This ignores the Biblical view that each person is created in God’s image and is thus eternally valuable.
These men’s sins profoundly affected the future. Even today people are influenced by these men, and too often view life as cheap and easily disposable.
Join us Sunday as I’ll preach on “See How Sin Affects the Future” from 2 Samuel 12:5-15. We’ll look at “See How Sin Is Despising God,” verses 5-9; “See How Sin Affects Our Children,” verses 10-12; and “Receive Forgiveness,” verses 13-15. It’s the story of how David realized the damage his sin has done and how he was forgiven. Thus, we learn to look God for forgiveness and for a new, pure life.

CATCH THE VISION!
Please join our seminar at El Camino Baptist, on “Catch the Vision!” This is a must for our ministry leaders, but all are invited.
It will be held on April 25, at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. There will be a few snacks to begin the class.
We will study Jesus’ vision statement for the church and how it applies to El Camino, to you and your family, and how it fits with your Spiritual gifts, background, passions and ministries.
We all need to be on the same page as a church, so please come, pray for us, and be praying for what God will teach us!
